Project Summary

This project involved the compilation of a Scoping Report, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and Preliminary Environmental Management Plan for the construction and operation of a 6MW Biomass Thermal Power Plant at Sokoban in the Ashanti Region of Ghana to obtain an environmental permit from the EPA of Ghana. This took into consideration the project designs and layout, existing baseline information as well as local E&S requirements.

Our experts performed the following activities:

Review of documents relevant to the project and identification of legal and statutory requirements concerning the project
Review of project layout, design and feasibility documentation
Geospatial data collection, analysis and presentation
Risk and impact assessment
Site verification visits and baseline information gathering and Stakeholder consultations
Water quality, air quality and noise level assessment
Tour of project sites and determination of relevant matters for the inclusion in environmental & social scoping and draft terms of reference for ESIA.
Checking for the applicable legal and regulatory requirements for the project.
